Frequently asked questions

Are safety mats and rubber granulate panels drivable?

The trafficability of safety mats and rubber granulate slabs depends on their specific product characteristics. At WARCO, for example, there are rubber composite paving slabs that can be driven on by lorries, as well as various paving and terrace slabs designed for car traffic.

Safety mats, on the other hand, are generally not intended for use by vehicles, as they are primarily designed for fall protection and shock absorption, which deliberately results in a lower load-bearing capacity.

In general, the flatter the integrated drainage grid on the underside and the higher the density of the material, the better the driveability. WARCO's product descriptions include a compressive strength value; a higher value indicates that more pressure per unit area can be tolerated, resulting in higher load capacity and improved drivability.
