Frequently asked questions

    Are rubber granulate products frost-resistant?

Yes, rubber granulate products are permanently frost-resistant. Even if water penetrates the structure and freezes, no damage occurs.

You can easily verify this yourself. Simply take a material sample and place it in a freezer box. Fill the box partially or completely with water and put it in the freezer. The water will freeze within the sample, yet neither freezing nor thawing causes any damage – the process can be repeated as often as desired with the same result.

This durability is due to the special design of the permeable rubber granulate products. Although water can enter the material and freeze (expanding by approximately 9%), the elastic rubber granulate grains absorb part of this expansion. The stable, elastic PU bonds between the grains remain intact.

Another advantage is the floating installation. Since the rubber panels are not rigidly bonded to the subfloor but simply laid on top, the flooring cannot detach from the base during frost. This is a clear advantage over glued tiles or natural stone slabs.
