What should be considered before installing rubber granulate tiles in a building?
Rubber granulate tiles may have residues of release agents from the manufacturing process on their surface. Therefore, the tiles should, if possible, be washed outside the building before installation and then allowed to dry completely. Warm water is more effective than cold, and a high-pressure cleaner or a scrubbing tool can facilitate the cleaning. Cleaning agents suitable for rubber can be used.
If cleaning can only be carried out after installation, it is advisable to use a mop or a suitable floor cleaning machine.
New rubber granulate tiles initially emit a typical rubber smell, which dissipates over time and is harmless to health. It is recommended to air the tiles before installation and to ensure good room ventilation even after installation.
In any case, the installation guidelines for the product, the substrate, and the installation system must be observed.
