Can rubber mats or products made of rubber or rubber granulate be cut with a knife?
When working with thin tiles of rubber or rubber granulate and with sufficient skill, cutting with a knife is a practical method. Use a very sharp knife with a sturdy handle and a robust blade. To achieve a clean cut, guide the knife along a fixed guide – ideally a metal strip – over the entire length of the cut. The knife is moved in several quick strokes with moderate pressure, so that with each pass it penetrates slightly deeper into the tile until it is completely severed. Extra caution is advised since the fingers holding the guide are particularly at risk of injury.
