What is the optimal installation strategy?

The optimal installation strategy always depends on the type and layout of the area as well as the tile type used. All strategies can be simulated with the installation planner available in the WARCO shop for each tile type.

    Installation from the Centre:

First, determine the exact centre by stretching two strings diagonally between opposite corners. The intersection marks the starting point where the first tile is aligned. From there, tiles are laid in all four directions, forming a cross. The area is then covered symmetrically around the centre and any necessary edge cuts for border tiles are precisely made. This method produces a harmonious, symmetrical layout, with minor errors accumulating over at most half the area.

    Installation from a Corner:

Choose the most suitable corner – for example, where two building walls meet – and lay the first tile. Then, lay the tiles along the longer side of the area. The last tile of the first row is trimmed, and the remainder is used as the first tile of the second row. The installation continues row by row. This method is simple to execute and minimizes waste, but it may result in an irregular tile pattern.

Installation from the Centre of a Side:

Determine the midpoint of the side where installation is to begin. From that point, tiles are laid forward and to the sides. The border areas are produced either as complete tile sections or as cut pieces. This strategy is especially suitable for non-rectangular areas – such as round balconies, trapezoidal playgrounds, or polygonal terraces – and creates a visually balanced overall appearance.
