How do you cut rubber mats or products made of rubber or rubber granulate?
Products made of rubber or rubber granulate can be processed much like wood. Using a standard wood saw – for example, a handheld circular saw or a table circular saw with a parallel fence – you can execute precise, straight cuts. For curved lines or cutouts, a jigsaw or reciprocating saw is recommended. It is essential to always use a coarse-toothed saw blade designed for wood or a specialized rubber saw blade.
Saws or blades intended for metal or stone, as well as cutting discs and high-speed saws, are not suitable.
For thin panels and with sufficient skill, cuts can also be made along a guide rail using a sharp utility knife – the knife is drawn several times along the guide with moderate pressure until the panel is completely severed. For particularly thick or bulky products, a chainsaw may also be used.
