What are the rules for construction delivery drivers?
Delivery drivers do not normally call before delivery for DHL Freight consignments. WARCO passes the telephone number provided with the transport order to DHL Freight, but this does not oblige the driver to call the recipient before delivery. Telephone notification is provided only where it has been expressly ordered as a chargeable additional service.
Without telephone notification, it is advisable to check DHL Freight tracking on the morning of the delivery day. The tracking information shows which DHL depot is delivering the consignment.
Contact the relevant DHL depot at around 8 am, quoting the consignment number and asking for the driver's telephone number. Direct contact with the driver usually gives a better indication of the approximate delivery time and allows preparations to be made accordingly for receipt of the goods.
