Fitness Performance Elite Training Floor is intended for indoor training areas where reliable grip and a consistent surface are required. Manufactured from PU-bound rubber granulate, the tiles are produced oversized and calibrated after curing. This ensures accurate dimensions and a flat upper surface. The result is a uniform installation with a clean, even appearance and dependable performance across connected areas, including frequent reconfiguration.
Manufacture and material
The material consists of rubber granulate bound with polyurethane to form dense, resilient tiles. By cutting after curing rather than casting to final size, each element maintains tight tolerances. This method provides consistent thickness and clean edges, supporting an even layout and uniform load distribution across the surface.
Surface and performance
The flat, closed surface provides slip resistance suited to dynamic movement such as strength training, functional circuits and free weights. Abrasion resistance supports ongoing use with equipment, while the material structure absorbs vibration and reduces impact sound. This contributes to a quieter training space and helps limit noise transfer to adjacent areas.
Installation system
Each tile features a precision-cut puzzle joint without bevel. The edges interlock cleanly, creating a near-continuous surface with minimal visible joints. Tiles are loose-laid without adhesive. This allows straightforward placement, adjustment and removal if the layout needs to be changed or extended.
System accessories
For perimeter detailing and transitions, the system includes the edge ramp art. 4165, which creates a defined and accessible finish at open edges. Where additional build-up height or further damping is required, the functional tile XX can be used as an underlay beneath the top layer, extending the system’s application range within the same installation concept.

You can work out how many WARCO tiles you need in two ways: calculate the quantity manually or use the online laying planner.
Measure the length and width of the area in cm. Divide each measurement by the corresponding usable size of a tile, then round each result up to the next whole number. Multiply the two rounded figures to obtain the minimum quantity required. For irregularly shaped areas, it is advisable to make a scale drawing on graph paper.

Enter the dimensions of the area, and the tool calculates the number of tiles and displays a suitable laying pattern. Select the “Plan your layout” button on the product page. An elastic floor covering made from PU-bound rubber granules can reduce impact sound. Under load, the covering yields and absorbs part of the impact before it reaches the load-bearing layer beneath it.
What is then transmitted through that layer is structure-borne sound. This consists of vibrations that travel through solid building elements such as floor slabs, walls and stairs and can become audible elsewhere as airborne sound. Impact sound is one form of structure-borne sound. It arises when walking, jumping, moving furniture or setting down weights excites the load-bearing layer beneath the covering. Structure-borne sound from equipment and building services has different sources and transmission paths. Footfall noise, in contrast, is heard where it is generated.
For impact sound, the covering acts on this excitation by extending the duration of the impact. This lowers the peak force and attenuates mainly the higher frequency components. The tile itself forms the resilient layer between the load and the substrate. How much vibration is transmitted depends on its frequency and on the complete construction.
Further damping can be achieved through the construction. Where requirements are higher, one or more resilient underlay tiles beneath the top tile can absorb impacts from weights being set down and further reduce transmission into the substrate. Such a multilayer construction can be considered particularly in fitness rooms above occupied storeys, as well as on balconies, access balconies and roof terraces where vibration can pass through connected building elements into occupied rooms. All layers are laid loose, one on top of another. A building acoustics assessment under Approved Document E of the Building Regulations covers the complete building element and its transmission paths, not an individual tile.
Most private customers and local authorities lay WARCO rubber tiles themselves. Commercial users also commonly carry out the installation themselves.
Rubber tiles are laid on a suitable sub-base and are neither screwed down nor glued. Depending on the range, the individual tiles are joined by a jigsaw interlock or plastic connectors. Any perimeter cuts are made with a circular saw, a jigsaw or a sharp utility knife with a snap-off blade.
The sub-base can usually be prepared by the customer as well. On concrete, asphalt or an existing firm surface, the rubber tiles are laid directly after any uneven areas have been levelled where necessary. On bare ground, a sub-base is formed first. Gravel grids, such as grass grids or plastic grids with a honeycomb structure, are a well-established choice for this purpose. They significantly reduce the work involved and noticeably improve the quality of the installation.
