Frequently asked questions

How can it be prevented that liquids penetrate through permeable tiles into the underlying floor (e.g. delicate parquet)?

A delicate floor intended to be covered with permeable rubber granulate tiles can be protected against liquid penetration by applying an impermeable separation layer on the existing floor. The choice of separation layer depends primarily on the installation location, the type of use, and the expected moisture load.

For example, if a protective mat is used in a historic building to shield the parquet from mechanical damage during renovations, a vapour-permeable membrane is recommended. A similar approach can be applied in sports halls with wooden floors. For substrates such as natural stone, tiles, glass, or metal, tightly bonded cover films are suitable.
