Frequently asked questions

How can irregularities in roof waterproofing using bitumen or roofing membranes be levelled?

During rainy weather, water frequently accumulates on flat roofs or balconies sealed with bitumen or roofing membranes. Although the built-in slope of the surface is usually sufficient, puddles may form because the overlaps of the individual membranes hinder water drainage or depressions have developed in the waterproofing.

These depressions are best filled with precisely cut inserts made of roofing felt, bitumen membranes, or roof foils to displace the water. Multiple layers of roofing felt can be used. By laying a batten on the surface, it is easy to determine where additional leveling material is needed and where the surface is already even.

Bonding the cutouts is generally not necessary if a floor covering of rubber tiles is installed simultaneously to secure the inserts. The proven use of roofing membranes for filling irregularities ensures that the material does not rot, is easy to work with, and does not shift under the floor covering.
