Are there colour variations in a rubber tile delivery?

Colour variations can occur in deliveries of rubber tile products made from PU-bound rubber granules, within a production batch and between production batches.

The permitted tolerance defines the allowed departure from the specified shade and depends on the fraction and the particular colour. Fraction refers to particle size and particle size distribution. Coloured ELT products show the most noticeable colour variation, with individual elements in a production series appearing lighter, darker or more intense.

For black or anthracite-grey ELT products, recycled rubber granules are processed with a colourless binder. Grey, white or coloured particles may therefore be visible; this cannot be avoided with this raw material.

Products with a speckled EPDM surface contain granules of different base colours, and natural mixing variations form part of the design. Plain-colour EPDM surfaces show only minimal colour variation. For WARCO floor coverings, variations within the specified tolerances are normal and do not constitute grounds for a complaint or price reduction.

With speckled EPDM surfaces, these natural mixing variations give the design its character, much as they do in a wood floor made from naturally varied timber.
