What thicknesses are XT surfacing tiles available in?

XT surfacing tiles are available in thicknesses of 1.8 and 2.8 cm.

Laid directly on a firm substrate, the surfacing tiles make up the whole build-up, so the finished height is simply the tile thickness.

Where a greater build-up height is required, XX functional tiles can be laid beneath the surfacing tiles as a base layer. One or more functional tiles may be used, and these come in thicknesses of 1.8 or 2.8 cm. Depending on the combination, the overall system thickness ranges from 1.8 to 11.2 cm.

On impact-attenuating surfaces, the functional tiles increase shock absorption and critical fall height. In fitness and sports facilities, they increase shock absorption and vibration damping and improve sound insulation. The same damping and insulating properties are useful in other settings too: in dog kennels, for instance, the functional tiles improve thermal insulation. Whichever system thickness is chosen must match the finished levels at doors, thresholds and adjoining surfaces.
