Frequently asked questions

How do you waterproof a flat roof?

Flat roof waterproofing must be seamless and able to cope with standing water. Unlike pitched roofs, rain doesn’t drain away freely – it pools in low spots and collects at junctions.

Apply ALLESDICHT in two or three coats to the cleaned substrate: concrete, bitumen, sheet metal or plastic all work. You get a seamless coating that stays watertight even when water stands on it. For large areas, an airless sprayer applies the material efficiently and gives an even thickness.

Pay careful attention to detail points: roof drains, rooflights, edge trims and any pipes or cables that penetrate the roof. Use reinforcing fabric at all these locations. If you need to repair a damaged patch on an existing flat roof, ALLESDICHT can often handle it as a localised repair – a complete roof rebuild isn’t always required.
