How do you cut rubber flooring for staircase?

Rubber flooring for a staircase is made from tiles with a calibrated puzzle interlock, each cut to exact dimensions from a larger blank after the blank has cured for several days. The tile edges are vertical rather than bevelled, and the finished tile has only a minimal height tolerance. In conventional pressing, a rubber tile is given a bevelled edge, so every joint shows as a dark line across the surface. The vertical edges and minimal height tolerance allow the tiles to butt accurately, leaving only a hairline joint; this is visible only on close inspection in the installed area, giving the floor covering an almost seamless appearance.
