Frequently asked questions

Do algae or moss grow on products made of rubber granulate?

Rubber inherently does not provide a growth substrate for algae or moss because it does not supply the minerals needed by plants and does not support rooting. Therefore, algae and moss generally do not colonize products made of rubber granulate. However, if sand, potting soil, or residues thereof are present on the tiles, a suitable substrate is formed, allowing algae and moss to grow. To prevent unwanted growth, products made of rubber granulate should be kept clean just like any other flooring.
