Frequently asked questions

Can you grill on rubber granulate tiles?

Rubber granulate tiles are available in various fire classifications – either standard or fire-resistant. Products made from EFL (rubber granulate from recycled tyres) are generally standard flammable, while products made of EPDM or with an EPDM surface are typically fire-resistant. The respective fire classification can be found in the product description in the WARCO shop.

For private use, grilling with gas or charcoal grills on rubber granulate tiles is generally unproblematic. An accidentally dropped small piece of glowing charcoal usually does not lead to a fire.

However, it is not advisable to place an open fire bowl on the tiles or to let the embers of a toppled grill burn out uncontrolled, as the rubber granulate base would inevitably catch fire.

Grill with the same care as you would on a wooden deck and always keep a bucket of water at hand in case of emergency – then nothing will stand in the way of your grilling pleasure.
