    Which terrace covering is low-maintenance?

Whether a terrace surface is low maintenance depends on three key factors: the material, the surface finish and the method of installation. Ceramic tile decking is generally considered low maintenance, as regular sweeping or washing is usually sufficient and dirt adhesion is minimal. In contrast, decking made from wood tiles or boards - and even WPC boards - require more intensive maintenance due to their porous structure and exposure to the elements, which leads to dirt and debris accumulating underneath, requiring frequent cleaning and treatments such as oiling or waterproofing.

Rubber granule decking is relatively easy to maintain and is self-cleaning, requiring only basic cleaning with a vacuum cleaner, mop or pressure washer. When choosing a decking material, it is important to consider not only maintenance, but also weather resistance, safety and durability, as these factors tend to work in tandem.
