Rubber tiles made of PU-bound rubber granules?
WARCO rubber tiles are made from PU-bound rubber granules, with around 90% rubber granules and around 10% polyurethane binder.
The irregularly shaped granules have edge lengths of up to 5 mm and are produced by crushing and grinding larger rubber pieces.
Two types of rubber granules are used. Black recycled tyre rubber granules (ELT) come from tyre recycling and consist mainly of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and natural rubber (NR). Coloured EPDM rubber granules are newly produced and coloured throughout.
The binder is a solvent-free, one-component polyurethane that cures in the presence of moisture and is fully reacted in the finished covering. In tiles made from ELT rubber granules, colour is created by a pigmented binder that surrounds each granule.
Two-layer tiles have an EPDM wearing layer on top. This wearing layer is colour-stable and UV-resistant.
