Rubber granules flooring can you grill on it?

Grilling on rubber granule tiles with a gas or charcoal barbecue is generally unproblematic in domestic use, and a small piece of glowing charcoal accidentally dropped onto the surface will not normally cause a fire.

The tiles are made from PU-bound rubber granules and are available in fire classifications Efl, normally flammable, and Cfl-s1, flame-retardant. Products made from Efl rubber granules, which are produced from recycled car tyres, are generally normally flammable. EPDM products and products with an EPDM surface are generally flame-retardant. An open fire bowl should not be placed on the tiles. Embers from an overturned barbecue should not be left to burn uncontrolled, as the rubber granules flooring may catch fire.

Grilling requires the same care as on a terrace with timber decking. A bucket of water should always be kept ready for an emergency.
