A dripping gutter can be repaired using ALLESDICHT liquid-applied waterproofing. First, locate the damaged area precisely. Causes may include cracks, pitting corrosion or leaking joints; on zinc gutters, corrosion often appears on the underside, while cracks in plastic gutters frequently occur at the joints.

The affected area must be thoroughly cleaned and dried before the liquid-applied waterproofing is applied in several coats. It forms a seamless, crack-bridging rubber membrane and adheres to zinc, copper, plastic and sheet metal. The waterproofing remains elastic through major temperature changes between summer and winter, which is particularly important for gutters subject to significant thermal movement.

At cracks and joints, fabric reinforcement is embedded in the waterproofing to provide lasting reinforcement in these movement-prone areas. Where damage covers a large area or sections have rusted through, assess whether replacement of the affected gutter sections is more economical than repair.
