With the use of plastic honeycomb grids, you can create the best possible base layer for WARCO tiles on natural soil with little effort. The plastic honeycomb grids provide a much better foundation for WARCO tiles than concrete or leveled, compacted gravel.

The reason is that a properly laid pavement of grids is long-lasting, stable and has a bearing capacity of about 400 t/m2. The plastic honeycomb grid is open to infiltration, so rainwater flows quickly and naturally into the ground. The surface requires no slope or drainage. The installation of the grids is simple and is usually done without machines and with little earthwork. Often it is enough to remove an appropriate amount of existing soil, spread an approximate 2 cm layer of gravel, level and fix the plastic honeycomb grids with ground spikes, fill them with gravel in a 2/5 proportion, and then place WARCO tiles on top.

The advantages of WARCO

Colour
Matte Black

The homogeneous blend of secondary PP and PE is dyed matte black or dark grey. The colour may vary between production batches. As the panels are typically used in traffic areas or under paving, no UV stabiliser has been applied to the colour.

Material

The raw material for this product is a plastic granulate made from carefully collected off-spec batches of brand new polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) plastic products. The resulting plastic granulate is free of heavy metals and contaminants of any kind. The use of regranulate is both environmentally and economically beneficial, saving oil and energy and reducing waste. The combination of both plastics in one product improves durability and mechanical properties.

Assembly or connection system

The approximately 4cm long spikes on the underside of the grids ensure that they are securely anchored in the ground. When pressed into the prepared ground, the spikes grip firmly into the surface, effectively preventing any movement of the grids. In addition, the grids are fitted with spikes on two sides that fit into designated openings on adjacent grids. This interlocking system creates a strong connection between all installed grids, ensuring a durable and cohesive surface.

Structure of the underside

The underside of the grass grid or gravel grid features approximately 4 cm long ground spikes that anchor the grid securely into the substrate. The spikes positioned along the edges interlock with the recesses of adjacent grids during installation, ensuring a stable connection between the individual elements. Depending on local conditions and the intended use, the grids can be installed either directly on the prepared subbase or on a layer of crushed stone.

How is the ordered merchandise packaged and shipped?

Goods ready for despatch are packed to ensure cost effective and safe transport. Smaller orders are sent by parcel post - up to five parcels can be sent, with a maximum weight of 29kg per parcel.

Items are generally packed on disposable pallets. We use three types of pallet: quarter pallets, half pallets and industrial pallets. The items in your order are stacked on the appropriate pallet and wrapped in stretch film. Depending on the type of pallet, the goods ordered and the destination country, a pallet can weigh up to 1200kg. Please note that pallets will not be returned and will remain with the recipient.

Pallet shipments are handled by carriers. For shipments weighing up to 2500kg, unloading from the lorry is usually included in the price. For heavier shipments, the recipient is usually responsible for unloading (using a forklift, front-end loader or ramp). Alternative arrangements can be made if required.
